I also picked up the long-neglected Regia socks and got started on the toe. I'm doing a "star toe" on these, which is where you decrease at the end of each of four needles, and then knit a plain row, and then alternate decrease and plain rows. One warning about the star toe: you want to be REALLY SURE the sock is within 2" or less of the finished length. If the sock is a little short, the star toe is uncomfortably tight.

I've got a chunk of a bush from my yard in my office. It's something Oleaceous (olive family) but I'm not sure what. I'm hoping my colleague Stan, who knows more about horticultural plants than I do, will be in later so I can ask him what it is. It really has a strong odor.
