Can I take a minute and rant about something here?

Why, why, why do some scientific journals require you to do the stupid "number-code" format for citations? Instead of very logically stating your piece of information and then plopping (Corbett, 1999) behind it, where you can then go and FIND "Corbett, 1999" alphabetically in the lit cit., you have to give every citation a number based on order of appearence. So of course when you have to rewrite the paper, everything is all messed up. Especially if you are adding citations. And it makes it harder when you're reading an article, to find who said what.

It's a dumb dumb method. I don't know why journals use it. (I suppose it saves a few typed characters). It annoys the heck out of me.

I need to go and eat. Grrrrh.
