Yay! April is Poetry Appreciation Month. I love poetry - enjoy reading it, and I used to write quite a bit. here is a "how-to" site for a variety of simple types of poetry - good for those out there with creative children. I remember in third grade we did a BIG unit on poetry in language arts and I remember doing a lot of these - cinquains, clerihews, and especially Haiku.

Haiku remains my favorite form if I'm trying to write something. But I remember cinquains (and the related diamante) were fun, too.
