Oh my gosh. Did I really ask the universe to bring it on?

I retract that statement now. So much has happened between now and then. Some I can't even really enumerate here because the people involved have asked me to keep silence on the problems. But, here's what I'm dealing with:

1. Several people who are close to me are going through various bad personal problems and I am in the role of sounding board and advice-giver. And these are people with more life experience than I have.

2. I copied the wrong (a previous year's) exam for my soils class. So I gave them an exam with questions they could not answer. I did not realize this until the last person handed in the exam.

3. My roof is leaking

4. The ants have invaded every corner of my house.

5. The wax seal on the bathroom toilet has gone bad and I have to have a plumber in to replace it

6. People are calling me about volunteer work they signed up to do - they can't do it now and they want out and they want ME to find someone to take their place. (I'm sorry, but I think the rule should be: if you have to bow out, you have to find a replacement).

7. My dehumidifier - pretty much a necessity in this climate with my asthma - has been recalled and I can't use it for a month or more until it's been fixed.

8. A colleague invited a speaker to come in on a day when he's going to be out of town - so I have to shepherd the guy around and feed him lunch.

9. The meetings-from-h-e-double hockey sticks weel is next week. I have one meeting that I have already been warned may stretch past dinnertime.

I'm figuratively cringing in the corner, waiting for the next blow and wondering when and where it's going to come from.
So no knitting content. I did get a few rows in on the shawl for my mom while waiting for the plumber to call back last night.
