Some months back, I ordered the kit for these socks:

They are from the Heels and Toes Gazette by Dawn Brocco. The problem was, Dawn had miscalculated how much of the brown wool was needed, and the company had discontinued the yarn (D'Oh!!!).
So Dawn e-mailed everyone who had ordered the kit, suggesting either: she would search for more of the brown wool, or she could maybe send one of the other colors, or she might - in some months - be able to secure another source for similar colors.
I said my first choice would be to have more of the brown but I'd take whatever I could get (I was really hoping it wasn't more of the green - I thought striped feet on the socks would be kind of busy).
Well, yesterday when I came home, there was a packet in my mailbox. With another skein of brown yarn, obtained by Dawn from other yarnsellers. Yay! Now I can make the socks as written. (As you can see, they are very pretty socks).
Dawn, as they used to say, Hooray and a tiger for you! (And does anyone know the origin of that phrase?)
