I think I'm actually going to begin two larger projects once I finish the Bloomfield. I want to start the Spanish Shawl for me, but I also think I am going to do something I've been thinking about for a while for my mom - I have the Lily Chin "simple lace shawl" pattern and some black and glitter yarn I bought for it. (More recently, I bought some brown laceweight kid mohair from Elann to do another one off that pattern.

I had been thinking - my mom looks really good in black, better than I do, and she wears a lot of things a black shawl would look extremely nice with. And, several years ago, one of her cats ate (don't ask) a shawl that her grandmother had made for her.

I know it won't replace the eaten shawl, but I like the idea of giving her a shawl I made for her birthday (May 23). If I start now, I should finish in time. (I know she doesn't read the blog so I can talk about it here).
